Food & Fund Drives

Together We Can End Hunger

Food and Fund Drives are a great, fun way to raise awareness about hunger and mobilize your community to provide food for neighbors in need. Boost your impact! Rally your group to collect funds instead of or in addition to filling food barrels. For every $1 raised, we can provide 6 meals to those who are hungry.

Fund Drive

By hosting a Fund Drive, you have an opportunity to help provide hope and security this season. No matter how small or large your goal, no matter if you collect donations in person or with our online giving, your efforts will make a difference for youth, adults, families, seniors and veterans right here in our community. Not only will your donation go further due to our wholesale purchasing power, but it will allow us to provide nutritious high quality food items like milk, chicken, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and yogurt.

Double your donations through a Matching Gifts Program. Matching gifts are a great way to increase your total fundraising dollars. Some companies match gifts made by employees. So, take a few minutes to find out if you can double your donations today by checking with your Human Resources Department.

By working with local partners across business, nonprofit and government sectors, food banks are working to strengthen communities and support families to achieve more food secure lives.

Donate Food

If you are organizing a food drive, it’s important that you do so in conjunction with the West Ohio Food Bank. We can provide advice on food safety, what types of items can be accepted, and what timing makes the most sense for your event. West Ohio Food Bank maintains the highest standards of food safety, which means not every product is suitable for donation.  After donations are collected, we sort and inspect all donated items to ensure that they are absolutely safe.

Please follow some simple rules when collecting food.

– Collect only non-perishable food items and personal care items.
– Do not collect any homemade items.
– Please keep personal care items separate from food items (i.e. mouthwash).
– No glass, please!  Glass items can chip and break easily in the barrels.
